Thank You for a Tremendous Product Launch!
We launched in fall 2023 and as of December 2023, Feedback Loop is installed at 7 colleges & universities and we’re adding more each month! A huge thank you to everyone who jumped in with us and whose feedback and insight has helped us produce the best peer survey tool available. If you are not yet using Feedback Loop and want to try it out, please contact us here.
Toggle Results by Giver or Receiver
Our most recent release includes a toggle to view a students received or given feedback. Viewing received when evaluating a student’s performance is the standard but we have found some faculty also want to view their given feedback to identify how seriously the student is taking their team evaluation (and by extension, their teamwork).
Feedback Loop Student Performance Report
Instructors can send a tailor made performance report to all students with a single click. This report transforms a peer review survey into an active learning experience where students learn from their performance review just like they will in their careers. The core of this report is alignment: how similar or different their self assessment is relative to their peers ratings of them. All results are anonymized in these student performance reports. More on this feature here.
Releasable vs Private Questions
As important as we think sharing a student’s performance with them is, we found that instructors may have some questions they want to keep private. This gives students room to be as candid as possible and gives instructors granular control over the visibility of question responses.
Complete Learning Management System (LMS) Integration
Even before we started work on Feedback Loop, we knew we needed to build a sleek and easy to use tool that folds into Instructors’ existing tools. Integrating with the LMS was the obvious move but we took it a step further: surveys can be sent on their own or as LMS assignments and those assignment survey responses can be automatically (or manually, if you choose) graded by the Feedback Loop tool. More on the assignment sync feature here.
Student Response View Optimization
Maybe the most fundamental part of student peer reviews is the student interface for completing it. We worked with nearly a dozen faculty who provided detailed insight on their peer surveys and we learned that some can be quite long, especially when you factor in a team of 4-6 students. To help, we built the response interface around tabs: each student being reviewed has their own tab, with their name (and face) at the top to help students focus on that one student while reviewing them.
Reflection Questions (not peer targeted)
In our focus group sessions with faculty, we learned that peer review surveys often include questions that don’t involve peer review at all! We built a feature around this and call them “general reflection” questions.
