Improved Roster View, General Reflection Response Layout and Reporting
This Feedback Loop product update includes several user experience polish items.
Display results by responses given or received
Our most recent release includes a toggle to view a students received or given feedback. Viewing received when evaluating a student’s performance is the standard but we have found some faculty also want to view their given feedback to identify how seriously the student is taking their team evaluation (and by extension, their teamwork).
Students no receive an email confirmation upon survey response submission
When submitting a survey response, students already see a confirmation message but we found for some students that they want to be extra sure their submission was received. We completely understand this as these surveys are often graded assignments and so have added an email notification students receive when submitting their response. This new notification is in addition to any assignment completion notice from the LMS if the survey was sent as an assignment.
Enhanced Excel exports
Word count is now tabulated and displayed for responses in the Excel export for instructors who consider length of response when evaluating survey results.
Feedback Loop Teams page now only lists students
Instructors, TAs and any non student users will no longer display in your roster of teams.
General reflection questions response tab no longer displays a set message
We originally designed the reflection question types for a narrow purpose: allowing students to reflect on their time in the course. We’ve since seen it used by faculty for much more than this and it has morphed into a catchall for any survey questions that do not target peers for review. To better support this, we have removed the header text at the top of the general response tab so that instructors can enter their own explanatory text if needed. To do this, create an Instructions field type and set it to general reflection. If it is the first general reflection field in your survey, it will display at the top of that tab.
Coming soon, we will be reworking the survey template editor to exactly match the student view to make it easier than ever to build a survey to look exactly the way you want!
